Former rugby player and debt collector, Zane Kilian, has briefly appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court in connection with an attempt to kill prominent defence attorney William Booth.
Thirty-nine-year old Kilian faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and the unlawful interception of communication.
He is alleged to have tracked and pinged Booth’s phone. The failed assassination took place at Booth’s Cape Town home in April this year. Booth escaped unharmed.
Kilian appeared along with four accused. Their appearance was brief. The case was postponed to the 14th of December.
Kilian also faces charges related to the murder of top cop and anti-gang unit member Charl Kinnear who was killed outside his Bishop Lavis home two months ago.
He is alleged to have tracked the Detectives phone leading up to his murder.
Kilian is expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s court tomorrow on the murder charges.
