Rooibos Virgin Sangria

The heat is upon us and we need all the refreshment we can get! It is very important to keep yourself hydrated.  Chill out with this flavour-packed Rooibos Virgin Sangria. It is tasty, fruity and contains all the goodness Rooibos has to offer.

This Rooibos Virgin Sangria recipe is alcohol-free so young children can also enjoy a glass to combat the heat. Furthermore, one of the amazing benefits of rooibos tea is that it is caffeine-free and so healthy that children can consume it from a really young age. In fact, many mothers offer it to their toddlers as a favourite beverage.

Rooibos is loaded with antioxidant-rich micronutrients which are powerful immune-system boosters. It miraculously increases good cholesterol and reduces the bad. Rooibos also helps to prevent heart disease. Rooibos is naturally sweet and with the added fruit, this Rooibos Virgin Sangria is a refreshing and healthy alternative to sugary drinks to enjoy during this heat.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 tea bags BOS Organic Rooibos tea

  • 1 litre boiling water

  • 3 tablespoons orange blossom honey

  • 1 litre red grape juice

  • 500 ml fresh orange juice

  • 125 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced

  • 1 orange, skin on, thinly sliced

  • 2 bunches fresh mint leaves

  • 2 firm but ripe nectarines, sliced into wedges

METHOD

  • In a large jug, steep tea bags in boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove and discard. Add honey and stir.
  • Add grape juice, orange juice, lemon juice, and orange and lemon slices. Chill until cold.
  • Add mint and nectarines.
  • Fill tumblers with ice and top with sangria.
