Reported COVID-19 Deaths and Recoveries

According to a statement by Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize, a further 2 112 confirmed cases were reported on Tuesday evening.

In terms of testing, 968 070 tests have been conducted to date, with 25 012 tests performed in the last 24 hours.

A further 82 COVID-19 related deaths:

  • 61 from Western Cape,
  • 11 from the Eastern Cape
  • 10 from Gauteng Province.

This brings the total national deaths to 1162 with a mortality rate of 2,2%.

The recoveries to date are 29 006– this translates to a recovery rate of 54,8%
