Invest200 another Ponzi scheme, have you been contacted by them?
According to Business Maverick, they were first made aware of Invest200 through family and friends via a WhatsApp marketing ploy.
This “donation-based crowdfunding” proposition promises a quick return on your money, all you have to do is join and invite your friends.
Donation-based crowdfunding is where somebody is trying to raise money to a fund a social need, for example a kidney transplant. According to Daily Maverick and industry experts, usually there is no real return other than making a contribution to society. The illustration below clearly shows that this is not what Invest200 is proposing.
This was also confirmed by the owner Delmarie van Zyl, via a telephone conversation according to Daily Maverick.
Van Zyl told Daily Maverick that people who participate in the scheme do so at their own will, and are made well aware of the rules prior to participation. “We didn’t hold a gun to their head.” She said.
Their Facebook page and website has since been deactivated.
