Cosmopolitan will close its doors on 1 May
Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, House & Leisure and Woman on Wheels, which all fall under Associated Media Publishing, is closing its doors
permanently on Friday 1 May, due to the “devastating” impact of Covid-19. The lockdown has resulted in the closure of printing and all distribution channels.
“This is the most difficult decision I have ever had to make. We never thought this day would come, but we are left with no choice,” the publishers CEO, Julia Raphaely
said in a statement released on Thursday.
In 1982, Associated Media Publishing was launched by magazine publisher Doyenne Jane Raphaely, who later hander over the reins to her daughter Julia.
There has been a global fall in advertising spending, with media companies also not able to earn money by hosting any events.
