Alberton News: Taking hands and making a difference

The Alberton H.E.L.P Forum would like to say thank you to the Navada Team for their most generous donation of over 3000 soup packets, their support has enabled H.E.L.P to feed so many families in need as well as the elderly in the Alberton and JHB south area.

During this desperate time they were able to make a difference in so many lives. The Alberton H.E.L.P Forum have increased their services through networking and taking hands with caring compassionate people.

All about H.E.L.P

The Alberton H.E.L.P (Helping The Less Privileged) forum was established in 2017 by Tammy du Plooy. The idea arose because there were many organisations operating in Alberton and assisting and giving donations to the same people, but without engaging with any of the other role players, leading to overlap or gaps in the overall assistance being provided to the less privileged.

The various organisations get together once a month at the H.E.L.P forum where their representatives share their ideas and initiatives with the broader group. From here the organisations can co-operate and collaborate in achieving the vision of Helping Empower the Less Privileged.

Here are a few organisations that have been active and part of the food distribution in the Alberton area since lockdown and close neighbouring communities.
