Iketsetse youth forum in partnership with Youth Parliament hosted a career skills and business expo on the 12 of November at Civic Centre in Vosloorus.
The aim of the event was to equip job seeker with the necessary information and channel them into a position where they can be employable.
Youth activist Nickel said that different structure within government were invited to share information with the youth of Vosloorus.
Department of Labour, NYDA, Small Business development, HWSETA, City of Ekurhuleni and many other private companies did presentations for the youth.
According to Nickel, young people in townships are not exposed to opportunities because they do not have access to information.
“I was important that we host an event of this magnitude so that our youth can be familiar with the opportunities that are available to them and how they can access funding for their business,” he said.
Nickel has called for private sector and the government to come up with a solution for unemployment. He always challenged the youth to be active member in the economy and become game changers.
“We need to take our struggle of unemployment and address it by being game changers.”
