Aimee Botes is a Germiston resident who attends the National School of the Arts, Johannesburg, where she majors in Dance. Additionally, she studies Drama, and Rock ‘n Pop Vocals through Trinity College, London. She is also an independent model who has made strides in the industry in her young career.
In 2014, she auditioned for a local talent contest, IATS, which in turn led to her being invited to perform in front of agents in Florida, USA at the ARTS convention in July of 2015.
She modeled for Uberglam School of Fashion in 2016 and 2018, and is now a brand ambassador for Jess Scholtz’ Skeleton Key Couture.
She is currently an independent model and has trained with Figures Models, Alberton. In 2018, Aimee was part of the Miss Signature Top 10 finalist competition, where she was the youngest to place in the Top 5 and was awarded Miss Photogenic.
She has been a cast member for the musicals ‘Once on this Island’, ‘We will rock you’ and ‘The Wiz’, and was a member of the Jozi Youth Dance Company for their 2015 and 2016 seasons. In 2017, she was a member of the Unity SA formation team that competed in Germany and Poland for Show Dance, Jazz and Modern dance.
Aimee was involved in the film ‘Trailer Made’ (2016) as well as two short films, ‘Be the change’ (2017), and ‘Slumber Party’ (2018). She is in post-production for ACT Film’s ‘The Construct’ (2020) and ‘R-Cade’ (2021).
Aimee has been invited to walk Vancouver Fashion Week, Spring/Summer 2020 as a brand ambassador for Jessica Scholtz’ Skeleton Key Couture for her Obsidian Collection, taking place from 7 – 13 October 2019.
It is a huge honour for Aimee to have been selected as a brand ambassador for such a wonderful, talented up-and-coming designer such as Jess, who was recently also invited to London Fashion Week!
Although Aimee is really excited to attend, she is seeking any brand collaboration to help pay for her flight and accommodation while in Vancouver as she is currently an independent model.
There is estimated to be close on 30 000 industry professionals attending this prestigious event!
