The EMPD’s Speed Enforcement with Drug Enforcement Unit/s Members, arrested five (5) lawbreakers in Boksburg and Vosloorus areas, for excessive speeding and possession of narcotics On Friday 08th and Saturday 09th November 2019.
On Friday, 8 Nov at 6:30am in Boksburg area, on the R21 freeway direction south between Griffiths off ramp and N12 bridge, the EMPD Speed Unit Members arrested a 28-year old male without any reason for speeding, driving a silver Hyundai i20 with two (2) passengers, clocking 180, on the throughway requiring 100km/h. The suspect was taken to Boksburg north police station where charges of reckless and negligent driving, were registered against him.
The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit Members patrolling the streets of Vosloorus between 10am and 16h00 on Saturday (09 Nov), arrested a 25-year old male, He was found on Esele road (extension 14) with 2x half mandrax tablets and 1x loose plastic bag of dagga valued at R200. On Roets drive (extension 2), a 56-year old male was stopped and searched, before Officers uncovered 1x ziplock of khat, 1x quarter and 2x halves of rock valued at R250. The next stop was on Mokgatla street where a couple (male & female) who is 21 and 31 years of age, were apprehended for being in possession of 230x ziplocks and 1x loose plastic containing dagga valued at R3000 with R610 cash, believed to be proceeds from their illicit marijuana trading. The four (4) suspects, were booked in at Vosloorus police station on charges of possession and dealing in narcotics.
All five (5) suspects, are expected to appear in Boksburg and Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court/s soon
